Sacramento River delta Historical Society

“The Delta” is an annual recognition aimed at honoring businesses and individuals who have demonstrated an unwavering commitment to preserving and enhancing the cultural, environmental, or economic heritage of our cherished region.

We’ve long thought of ways to honor the landmark businesses, individuals, places, and spaces that have made a long-lasting impact on the Delta region. Our first inaugural event was held at the Ryde Hotel on the evening of April 27, 2024. 

“The Delta” was presented to Mark Morais as a representative of the Giusti family and their almost century and a half of offering hospitality, food, and cheer to residents and visitors. Their iconic eatery Giusti’s Place was a second home to many of us, before being destroyed by fire in 2021, and is a much-missed community gathering place.
